And Quebec doesn't understand what a global pandemic is!

So, apparently Quebec has decided to offer a 3rd vaccine to those who initially received the AstraZeneca shot and "want to travel".

We're in a world right now where the WHO is advising against boosters and vaccinating children when so much of the world has yet to receive a 1st dose. And Quebec is prioritizing additional shots for people who have a desire to travel?

I received a mix of Pfizer and Moderna. A combination which isn't likely to be formally accepted by other nations any time soon. I didn't get vaccinated so I could travel. I got vaccinated to do my part in dealing with this pandemic. And, I'd like to think that my various levels of government didn't fund free public vaccinations so that I could travel either.

My personal opinion? If you need additional vaccinations to travel they should only be offered A) after the global state of the pandemic has been more widely addressed and B) at the traveler's expense.

That last bit is how other travel related vaccines are handled. And people wishing to travel are, frankly, a part of the problem, not the solution.

Do not get me wrong. I understand that there may need to be exceptions. Diplomats or business owners. Or perhaps even on compassionate grounds. But, these should be exceptions and not things that rules are created to encourage.

I hope the federal government steps in. After all, this supply of doses is coming from the Federal government and using Canadian tax payer money. It should not be used to enable leisure travel. Period.
