Pixel 2 Review Update (Again)
I don't know when it happened, but my Pixel 2 camera is now magical.
I had said I was looking forward to seeing how Google's Software first approach could make phone hardware better over time. And I'm calling this one early; I'm pleased.
When I first got the phone I toyed around with the camera in some random conditions and was disappointed when compared to my Nexus 6P. This weekend we did the Santa Claus parade though, and in the dark (sun fully down, maybe a bit of street lighting) and pictures were as clear or clearer on the phone than in real life. Even less grainy than they would have been on the 6P.
Tried a few other random shots in better lighting since and the gap there is definitely closing if not gone as well.
