More Windows 10 leaks...

Well some new animations aren't much to talk about. But things like Battery Sense, Data Sense and WiFi Sense making the transition are at least partially noteworthy.

Firstly, it strengthens the notion that Windows Phone v.Next will be sharing a little more than just the Kernel. Yes, these features have some value for tablets. But I think it is limited. Especially for Battery and Data Sense. Battery Sense will likely only work to its fullest potential with Modern apps, and if I'm wrong there, I can't see it going much further than extending to .Net apps running purely managed code. So, unless phones are going to be running the bulk of the OS I don't see a reason to be working on features like this in such early builds.

Likewise, Data Sense is only useful in tablets with cellular data or other metered connections. And, in the world of tablets that is a rarity. Especially the world of Windows Tablets. It is another feature that only makes sense to be working on at this stage if they are working on porting phone features into the OS for use on phones.

WiFi sense is probably even more useful on tablets than on phones for the aforementioned lack of cellular data on most tablets. It would also be useful on laptops. But, given it coming with the other 2 features indicates a strong for ramping up migrating Windows Phone code into Windows 10.

And, if it means what I'm thinking it implies, it means at least one version of Windows 10 is very likely to be free. The version they put on phones. Microsoft may be able to continue justifying charging for laptop and desktop licenses of Windows... but paid phone OS upgrades aren't likely to fly.

If true, it might also mean better odds that Windows 10 is free, at least for upgrades.
