Interesting new from the Google camp.
Last week I argued that 16:9 aspect ratio we have all come to expect as the standard worked well for some format, but not for others. Citing tablets specifically as one of the major use cases where it didn't make sense for reasons like balance, and how tablets are primarily used.
Seems Microsoft and Apple aren't the only ones to pick up on this. Seems like Google has a 4:3 aspect ratio Nexus tablet potentially in the works. Not sure how reliable this news is. But was worth pointing out.
I'd like to see some more work put into phone resolutions now. While I conceded that the rotated 16:9 works on smart phones, that doesn't mean I think it is the best aspect ratio possible. And certainly, not all phones, just as not all tablets follow that rigidly. But, we need to start seeing flagship devices like Surface, Nexus and iPads making the switching the smartphone arena.
