Slow going in the background...
Work today was again an arduous task of sorts. Not as bad as the past two as I actually uncovered some bugs which drew away from the monotony a bit at a time. One issue I thought was a bug (but turned out to simply be IIS crapping out under the load of my barrage of tests) kept me busy almost until the end of the day. But still, my evenings this week have just been a chance to get away from an IDE so I haven't done much code or research of my own this week. I think I spent more time watching my latest batch of mead ferment than I did working on my code projects.
That means more good news for Version 2 I guess, as that also means that Veronica hasn't found anything else she needed changed, otherwise I would be coding at home whether I wanted to or not. Thought something may have gone horribly wrong when I got home to find the excel spreadsheet she was using in the past to manually type out receipts open on the computer, but turned out to just be one of her bigger and whinier clients who thought the old receipts were more readable. Offered to change/increase the font, but Veronica seems to like the current ones, so that makes my life easier, though I would have happily changed it after finding out she wasn't doing it because of a bug. There are somethings you can get away with when doing things for friends and family such as making screens that don't look the greatest, but it is more important when they know where you live that you don't deliver software that cripples their business :)
Anyway, short post for the day. I don't foresee myself researching tonight so probably won't be a late one to follow this. Hut tub sounds like a good idea tonight however.
Cheers,
Alex
